"Prince"

From the March 6, 1997 edition of The Wall Street Journal. The WSJ reported that Prince, a 3 1/2 year old Labrador Retriever, living in Portsmouth (on the coast of New Hampshire) got loose and ate a neighbhor's rooster. He was sentenced to death by a special police panel as a "vicious" animal. Animal lovers objected and the new governor, Jeanne Shaheen, in her first major act, pardoned the dog! Prince wes sent to live in the country, his life spared.
