from Hutchinson's (England, circa 1935)
This interesting picture comes from the Rontgental in Germany, where the
State Railway maintains a special school for training German Shepherds and
Bloodhounds for railway police work. This photograph shows a squad of dogs
being trained to remain seated until their name is called. The moment any
individual dog is addressed by name, it springs towards its master, while
the remaining animals must not stir.

"DOG" AND ITS MASTER.
The above picture was specifically and exclusively taken for this work.
It shows Marshal Pilsudski, Poland's Dictator, with his canine friend and
companion, which actually answers to the name of "Dog." Reprinted
from Hutchinson's Dog Encyclopaedia (England, circa 1935).
Prints 8.5x11 available. $20 + $5 s&h ($15 outside the U.S.)
